“Christmas Greetings From Aroostook,” is a half hour show that was transmitted twice on Christmas Eve by Maine Public Broadcasting Network. This show features the sights and sounds of old fashioned Christmas traditions in Aroostook. Scenes includes sleigh rides, Caribou Choral Society, making Saint Lucia buns in New Sweden, Presque Isle Light Parade, the Heavenly Harpers of Houlton and making tourtiere in The St John Valley, to name a few. One special scene features Aroostook churches at Christmastime while Layne Longfellow, relative of Henry Wadsworth, reads Longfellow’s well loved poem “I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day.” This DVD, with seasonal music, is a joy to experience while preparing for the Holidays, and it is the perfect gift for County folk unable to make it home for Christmas. Also available as a Mini-DVD Postcard. Full sized DVD: $14.95!
Narrated by Layne Longfellow, related to the poet.
